Wood “Pátzcuaro” plate

Unique piece of folk art. 100% hand made by native Mexican artisans from the state of Michoacán using pre-Columbian techniques with European influence.

The plate shows a typical scene in Michoacán: men going out onto the lake of Pátzcuaro to catch fish with their butterfly-like nets. Pátzcuaro and its many islands hold a special place in Mexico’s cultural heritage, since here the Day of the Dead is celebrated like nowhere else.
